Head of Customer Payments and Rewards (AA/EE)

About this job

 This senior manager will drive the business requirements to develop innovative and new automated payment solutions that will increase the overall payment collection rates and reduce the incidence of cautomers falling into arrears.  Responsibilities will include the development and implementation of the automated payment / debit order collections strategy and the customer rewards strategy (for customer’s good payment history) as well as the implementation of the post acquisitions fraud strategy, thereby reducing fraud and bad debt and enhancing the overall customer experience.

In line with our client’s transformation plan, suitably qualified African Black candidates who meet the criteria for the role will be given preference

Qualifications and Competencies
Relevant Degree/ Diploma in Finance 
5-7 years Experience in Operations/ Finance/ Retail Marketing 
5-7 years Experience within Financial recovery industry 
5-7 years Strong experience within an automated debt recovery environment 
3- 5 years Experience in the development/input into strategic direction of the collection of payments.
3-5 years Management and leadership experience

Functions & Responsibilities

Plan, secure and control the annual budgets for area of responsibility.
Identify cost saving opportunities.
Collaborate with critical partners across the business and identify change agents.
Build and maintain relationships with customers to ensure customer retention.
Ensure customer excellence through interaction with internal and external customers throughout all business activities.
Manage implementation of strategy.
Ensure continuous process improvement to enable effective operational processes.
Report on all activities and latest industry trends.
Manage the business processes for area of responsibility.
Participate in the enhancement of all departmental processes and procedures.
Manage projects aligned to organisational strategy.
Monitors and reports on relevant processes, ensuring a strong feedback loop that enables effective tactical and operational decision-making.

Promotes teamwork amongst peers and team members

Manage a team comprising: Payments Manager; analysts; administrators; payment consultants
Participates in planned activities that are appropriate for own and staff development
