About this job

Main Purpose: The Strategic Project Office is business focused and closely aligned with the execution of the Company’s business strategy. As the Programme Manager you will be responsible for the successful delivery of projects across multiple portfolios, ensuring the alignment of project work to the overall portfolio and business objectives. Reporting to the Head of the Strategic Project Office, you will be responsible for leading a team of Project Managers working on the Programme that focuses on Business Development and Innovation, Operations and New Product.

Qualifications, Experience and Competencies:
A relevant and applicable Bachelors’ Degree or higher
Project Management Certification with a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Senior Project Manager A proven track record of delivering large complex projects
Thorough understanding of best practice project management methodologies
A practical understanding of the system development lifecycle and product life cycle 
Understanding of ICT functional areas such as development, infrastructure and service management
Financial services industry experience with broad knowledge of business and financial products
People management experience

Presentation and facilitation skills - ability to present ideas and options and drive decision making
Sound organisational skills with strong documentation and reporting abilities
Advanced communication and negotiation skills
Ability to manage expectations, risks and issues in a pro-active manner
Systematic and integrated thinking
Strong analytical and conceptual ability
Ability to assimilate new information (both technical and process

Strong ability to manage internal and external stakeholders
Ability to adapt easily to changing circumstances
Ability to work on multiple complex projects concurrently and deliver under pressure
Ability to consider the bigger picture as well as get involved in the detail as and when required

Duties

Responsibilities:

Co-ordinate project activity and manage performance across assigned portfolios 
Plan and allocate work across assigned portfolios, ensuring projects are delivered according to schedule and within budget
Support Project Managers, Business Analysts and business sponsors in defining sound and compelling business cases
Responsible for managing communication, ensuring continuous alignment of business stakeholders and relevant work streams
Responsible for Business Transition Management to ensure that any business changes that are as a result of the projects within your portfolios, are managed effectively
Responsible for overall governance, ensuring all projects within assigned portfolios are delivered in line with the Strategic Project Office methodology and compliant with Group standards 
Provide best practice insights and contribute to ensuring that the Strategic Project Office methodology is constantly enhanced and utilised
Manage own set of projects within the portfolios and take responsibility for the delivery of the full project scope following the Strategic Project Office methodology
Lead your team to ensure optimal performance, engagement and succession
